Stops : City of Huancavelica- Museum Daniel Hernandez - Thermal Waters - Ecological park of Secsachaca
Duración: 1 Day
City Tour:
The city of Huancavelica counts with 8 colonial churches built between the century XVI and the century XVIII. Their style is baroque and classic from the Renaissance period. Inside we can find impressive paintings, altars covered with golden sheets and different canvas.
We will pass through the historical centre to admire the Colonial Mansions such as the Town House in which there was, at first, the « Santa Inquisition », and which became later a public jail.
Museum Daniel Hernández:
it allows us to sink into the history of the region through the prehispanic archaeological evidences. You will also have the chance to observe some paintings and objects which represent the different cultural manifestations from this wonderful land of Huancavelica.
The thermal water swimming-pool of San Cristóbal
is the perfect place to have a relaxing bath. The water is quite green, with average temperatures between 18º and 22ºC and these luxurious waters are said to have curative properties against skin disease.
The Ecological Park of Secsachaca, also known as Villa Cariño (“small market town of tenderness”) counts with two thermal water sources and some mysterious caves which the origin is volcanic and that we can visit.
Surrounding us, we observe human footprints and Southern American camelids prints which are the testimonies of the first human settlements in Huancavelica.
Finally, after a long walk through the park, you will be able to enjoy a bath in one of the two thermal waters sources.
